Since the passing of the Freedom of Information Act 2000 the Parish Council has been required to publicise the availability of information about its affairs. Members of the public have a general right of access to many types of recorded information held by public authorities. Any person who makes a request to a public authority for information must be informed whether the public authority holds that information and, subject to exemptions, will be supplied with that information.
As a local authority, Finstall Parish Council must publish its Publication Scheme which is available below in pdf format and set out below. In essence this website is the council’s Publication Scheme in practice and should provide all the information required. If you are looking for something specific but cannot find it, please do not hesitate to contact the Clerk. If the council has the information and it’s not classed as ‘confidential’ then you should have access to it, and we will endeavour to provide it.
Information available from Finstall Parish Council under the Freedom of Information Act model publication scheme as provided for by the Information Commissioner’s Office – Information Commissioner’s Office (ICO).
This template guide covers only information we currently hold. If we do not hold some of the information listed below, we will put a line through it as ‘not held’ in the table.
Unless otherwise indicated, all the information referred to here is published on our website: Finstall Parish Council – Serving the people of Finstall.
If it is not freely available on the website, or if you would like it as a paper copy, the cost of providing the information is shown in the schedule of charges at the end of the document.
